Why doesn't the left understand what socialism is?

No socialist ideas have ever worked in America or anywhere else. The Societ Union was a dystopia which was loved by so-called 'Democrats'. Sweden is a country governed by cultural Marxist ideology and that is why Bernie Sanders likes it.

The left don't realize but instead of listening to their opponent's arguments and dealing with them as they stand, they have to invent a ridiculous a made-up position to critize someone. They swallow propaganda by their biased media and are happy to believe what sounds right without doing their own research. This is how they divide and conquer and get people to vote against their own self-interest.
Nods. It's pretty amazing you can keep this shtick up so long.

If you think Social Security and Medicare don't work, ask anyone over 60 to give theirs up.

If you think free public education should be abolished, ask any middle class family how much they can afford to pay for private schooling.

If you think universal healthcare is a leftist plot, ask anyone who needs a doctor much they trust private insurers and drug companies.

And if you think welfare is evil, ask any corporation to give up their tax breaks and "incentives" 😏

I love when people, who live in a nation with socialistic policies, complain about people who, they say, don't understand socialism. Then they proceed to make totally, demonstrably false claims about socialism, Democrats, other Socialist countries ...

The irony is so thick, I need a knife to cut it.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Pherick Well, in his defense, he's laying it on nice and thick.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@QuixoticSoul I forgot about him :) They need a notes section for users ..

@Pherick @QuixoticSoul I guess liberals aren't so tolerant after all. It comes from attending Ivory League colleges.

Hey everyone: this post is tongue in cheek. Almost up to usaalltheway standards. 👍️
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
... wow do you have no idea what you're talking about.

You're wrong. Bernie likes Finland, another Marxist shithole, where people are so poor, they have to rely on useless, government jobs, like raking snow covered leaves, year long.

Post office, social security, public roads are all examples of socialist policy. The Soviet Union was an example of authoritarianism. Venezuela also got stuck in authoritarian grip, but also failed due to economic blockade and sabotage from the US and other wealthy nations.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@ViciDraco

Same argument as Becky and Lafu... really doesn't make sense if you start doing reading on the toppic.

"social security" , is part of the 3th road idea... the one between capitalism and socialism. It belongs to the social-democratic toolbox. It's not "socialism". But it's a form of state organised "social" policies. (there is a diffrence)

Post Office, Public roads. If they are managed by the state, they are just part of the state infrastructure. It's not because you pay taxes for something that it's socialist. Just like your parlement and your leaders (monarchy or president or prime minister in a parlementary democracy) are not socialist.
Laifu · 46-50, F
But, but, roads and public schools, the post office, parks, police,etc... #socialism
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@Laifu

I'm sorry Laifu... but that really isn't socialism.
You have the same problem Becky has.
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
What a load of crap.
SW-User
I can't believe Americans believe you -- what idiots.
curiosi · 61-69, F
Socialism can be summed up in a single sentence..........Hate the man that is better off than you. Libs love their hatred and are constantly feeding it. It only stands to reason socialism would appeal to them.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@curiosi LOL No.
Laifu · 46-50, F
@curiosi You don't know many of us, do you? Most of us want to help other people. We don't need more for ourselves. I say this as I sit in my nice car in my wealthy suburb sipping my Starbucks, wearing my $200 Ugg boots and wondering why my cleaning lady is late...
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Laifu Lmao 😂

But seriously, a large portuon of “progressive activists” are high earners, more so than any other part of the electorate.

I’m not especially progressive, but a lot of people here would call me a socialist. I’m far from poor - I simply believe that certain things are better handled by the government, and that we’d all be better off with strong safety nets and social services. Systemic, not ad-hoc solutions.

Again... nothing to contribute to the conversation Becky.

Buh-bye!
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
And now I get blocked

Weakness! All because a smug little girl just couldn't handle that she was wrong.
Poor little Beckyromero. Ah well, what ever makes you happy!

Just like a dogmatic theocratic state that deletes every dissident voice by stoning it to death. Ignorance is Bliss. 🤗
