No I don't agree and anyone should be able to serve if they have a desire to protect this country.

However I said this before but maybe we should give the anti gay people what they want. Anti gay people can go die in the military and our LGBT people will be safe in America. No use serving for a country that doesn't want them. LGBT people get PTSD, the same as every other veteran and what's to show for it?

A bunch of haters who call themselves "patriotic" which is really just code for "I'm a hateful a**hole." 👍

If you have the ability to properly do what needs to be done in the military, and you are a US citizen, nobody should be able to stop you from joining.

The military isn't just another job. These soldiers have to be prepared and available to deploy at a moments notice. The # 1 priority and focus should be to defend the country with everything they have. With no intrusions.

There are no timeouts for treatments or surgeries. If you can't give 100% to the service. You are not qualified to serve.

Military service is not a game or a platform for political statements

I am conflicted on this issue. First, the military is not the place for everyone, it just isn't. Then there is the cost involved; but then, if you join and come down with cancer, that too is expensive. The number of transgender folks who would actually join the military is of no consequence for unit readiness. Every single one of them could be undergoing some sort of treatment and all at the same time, and it would not have an impact... it jsut wouldn't. In the end, it comes down to are we truly a country who believes in freedom and equality for all, or only freedom and equality for those who are like us. That for me is the question, and when I break it down to that simple question, then I am all for transgender people being able to serve. I think there needs to be some oversight of some sort, but generally speaking, freedom and equality is what it is about.

@frequentlyme Has anyone even seen any trans gendered in the military? All we got to go on is what the military anti gay people tell us.

They say "trust us" as if they have no reason to lie.

I think their problems with trans people are just all anti gay propaganda.

@SatanBurger I didn't serve with any transgender soldiers, but I did serve with lesbian and gay soldiers. Back then they had to keep it secret, which was difficult/impossible, but they were every bit as good a soldier, every bit as reliable a soldier as any. My conflicts come from what I think would be a very hard road for transgender's - it would be very, very hard for them. In the end though, I am believe in freedom to choose to serve or not, and that should be applied equally.

Well, considering how the left says they are suffering being in the wrong body I don't think we should put our military's lives in danger from these emotionally vulnerable people. I suppose once they have changed and have gotten over their emotional issues it's ok.

@cherokeepatti that was the point, not using the military's health insurance plan to cover sex change operations. But as usual, it gets twisted by people who use selective outrage.

I don't. I don't think Trump even personally cares, but his base and probably Mike Pence care. It's a silly move. As someone who is not military material, I'm certainly not going to tell someone else that they shouldn't be allowed to serve our country.

I disagree more with using the military as fuel for his culture war distractions. The more the bigots are yelling about the faggot pinkos and vice versa, the less attention anyone pays to things like Stormy and Russia.
