If marijuana taxation were implemented nationally, do you think current estimates $132 billion are too low?

If marijuana taxation were implemented, do you think current estimates $132 billion are too low? Using data from states that currently have sales where possible. By my own calculation of the industry in 2012 being 16bn in nys where its still not legal. Based on the assumption that all of america smokes just like ny thatd put my estimate as $261.651bn in 2010 so . . .

Not sure. I do know that's a LOT of money. And the amount saved on the faux 'war on drugs' would add to that total. I wonder if that figure includes hemp as well. Superior to cotton in every way.
Kind of sucks knowing that we could pay for free college for all and still have about $60 billion left over.

@Waymore Already did that, the Whiskey Rebellion began the process of taxing everything that the government could think of.

@GreensCornbreadYams absolutely, though marijuana has reduced healthcare costs in legal ststes by as much as 28% fewer overdoses too. Something at least.

Would anybody know?

@sunsporter1649 probably not but if nys' marijuana industry in 2012* was estimated as 16bn how does 132 even seem accurate?
