People who say Trump is "hellbent" on starting World War 3

Are literally echoing what people said about Reagan when he called the Soviet Union the "evil empire".

Take it back a notch.

hi Booyeah
I do not imagine for a moment Trump is planning WW3 as that would be suicidal. I do however believe he thinks limited Nuclear War is possible and even sensible. He is of course mad as a March hare.
Best wishes

hi Booyeah
no nothing relevant. Sorry to have wasted your time.

@sogdianrock Yes, because clearly you misunderstood the first quote. It has nothing to do with "limited nuclear war". Anyone who is informed on the situation knows that North Korea has thousands of artillery pieces in range of South Korea's capital, Seoul. They can launch hundred of thousands of artillery shells in an hour and cause massive casualties to the civilian populace, no nuke needed.

And clearly the second quote does not "define Trump threatening nuclear war" in any way, shape, or form.

And thirdly the last quote is nothing more than an appeal to appeasement to a aggressive regime that has consistently flouted agreements. Go ahead and look back on history to see how that's worked out, start with 1937.

This is a regime that has attempted assassination of the South Korean President, attacked and captured a US flagged ship, sunk a South Korean destroyer, shelled South Korean villages and killed dozens of people. This is a regime whose time is due.

hi Booyeah
North Korea best not make any more threats to the United states. They will be met with the fire and the fury like the world has never seen. He has been very threatening beyond a normal state, and as I said they will be met with the fire and fury and frankly power, the likes of which this world has never seen before. Thank you."

Sounds like nuclear war to me.
Best wishes

And all the claims of being a narcissist, he doesn't fit the requirements for the diagnosis
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
"He may be a world-class narcissist, but this doesn’t make him mentally ill, because he does not suffer from the distress and impairment required to diagnose mental disorder."

NPD - narcissistic personality disorder

Use the whole quote and understand that when he said world-class narcissist there was also a "may be" before it.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@Jackaloftheazuresand So he is saying that although he may be a world-class narcissist, he doesn't qualify for the disorder status because he is high functioning. Even if true, that doesn't diminish the threat he poses due to his demonstrated erratic and dangerous behavior in office.

@Jackaloftheazuresand Enjoy your day, and take some time to smell the roses.

Reagan was sometimes interventionist on foreign (Iran/contra etc) policy but also deserves tremendous credit for de-escalating the cold war through his nuclear deal with Gorbachev.

The point I will make here is that I have yet to hear an argument about what would be gained from War with North Korea. If Trump's rhetoric is not trying the prepare for war, then what is it?

North Korea is a nuclear power and nobody has ever invaded a nuclear power before. The risks are immense and the rewards are negligible.
President Trump simply stated the obvious ... which is what leaders are supposed to do.

That, some take this very serious situation as an opportunity to continue the election is sad.

Those intellectuals need to turn to defusing humor ... a moment with a heart ... or prayer

But, they should not be obscuring the obvious ... with their personal agendas.

I don't believe Trump is "hellbent" on starting WWIII. His rhetoric yesterday went far beyond anything Reagan (or any other post-WWII president, for that matter) ever said about a foreign adversary. He never thinks before he speaks. It was irresponsible and dangerous for him to make such a comment. I don't think he's trying to start a war, but his rhetoric may land us there anyway.
