People who say Trump is "hellbent" on starting World War 3

Are literally echoing what people said about Reagan when he called the Soviet Union the "evil empire".

Take it back a notch.

hi Booyeah
I do not imagine for a moment Trump is planning WW3 as that would be suicidal. I do however believe he thinks limited Nuclear War is possible and even sensible. He is of course mad as a March hare.
Best wishes
:)

@sogdianrock "I believe he thinks limited Nuclear War is possible and even sensible"

Again, echoing what was said of Reagan 30 years ago.

Tone it down a notch.

“Realistically, war has to be avoided,” said John Delury, an assistant professor of international studies at Yonsei University in South Korea. “When you run any cost-benefit analysis, it’s insanity.”

“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States,” Trump told journalists at his club in Bedminster, New Jersey. “They will be met with fire and the fury like the world has never seen.”

“It is dangerous and reckless and counterproductive for Donald Trump to threaten the annihilation of North Korea,” said Daryl Kimball, the head of the Washington-based Arms Control Association. “What we need is a dialogue to reduce tension and avoid catastrophic miscalculation. We are currently on the road to a conflict and we have to get to the off-ramp.”

So nothing relevant, then.

hi Booyeah
Well, plainly for me the first quote defines limited nuclear war as insane and the second defines Trump as threatening nuclear war and the third explains the danger. These seem highly relevant and sensible not alarmist - well except for Trump.

@sogdianrock Yes, because clearly you misunderstood the first quote. It has nothing to do with "limited nuclear war". Anyone who is informed on the situation knows that North Korea has thousands of artillery pieces in range of South Korea's capital, Seoul. They can launch hundred of thousands of artillery shells in an hour and cause massive casualties to the civilian populace, no nuke needed.

And clearly the second quote does not "define Trump threatening nuclear war" in any way, shape, or form.

And thirdly the last quote is nothing more than an appeal to appeasement to a aggressive regime that has consistently flouted agreements. Go ahead and look back on history to see how that's worked out, start with 1937.

This is a regime that has attempted assassination of the South Korean President, attacked and captured a US flagged ship, sunk a South Korean destroyer, shelled South Korean villages and killed dozens of people. This is a regime whose time is due.

hi Booyeah
North Korea best not make any more threats to the United states. They will be met with the fire and the fury like the world has never seen. He has been very threatening beyond a normal state, and as I said they will be met with the fire and fury and frankly power, the likes of which this world has never seen before. Thank you."

Sounds like nuclear war to me.
