I Believe In Forgiveness

Life really is too short.

Whenever I fight with with my S/O I remember something I heard when I was a teenager. I had a bf back then who's dad died. His mother attended a bereavement group where she met a young guy who had been on holiday in China with his gf. One night they had had a big row at the hotel and she had stormed off. After a while when she hadn't returned he went looking but found nothing. The next day she was found dead, she'd been attacked and murdered. He was devastated, but the worst thing, he said, was the fact that their last words had been in anger.

I never forgot his story and I always try to make up as quickly as possible...I hate to think that my last words to anyone I care for would be angry ones.

I’ve known so many situations where someone’s last conversation with a loved one was a quarrel or harsh words. I try really hard not to leave things without resolution and peace, because you never know when it will be that last goodbye. I kissed my husband, kissed my little son one morning before leaving for work. And never saw them again. 😞

@bijouxbroussard You're a brave woman for making it through that. *hugs you tight*
@ZenKitzune Thank you. It was a long, long time ago now, and once in a great while I’ll dream about them. In my father’s culture, it’s thought to be a visitation, I suppose. ((hugs))

@bijouxbroussard some things really stick in my head, like the story in this post..I heard that 20 years ago. I'm pretty sure yours will stick just the same. Idk what happens after we die but I hope we get to see people again.

And my first wife deserted me and our son for me to raise. And I did it.

I wonder if you were able to remarry and start again? I've not been able to succeed at that.
@SW-User No, I never remarried or had another child. I really respect that you were able to make a life for your son.
