Wow! Nature's variations, with all the wild colors and the astonishing beauty never ceases to amaze me.
Wild Rainbow trout is very sweet fleshed if you eat the small ones. They are quite wonderful! Stocked rainbows, on the other hand, are not as sweet, and any freshwater fish caught in polluted waters at low altitudes will have flesh that tastes slightly muddy.

@Bluesky1962 I don’t like catfish.

@cherokeepatti I really have no idea, I've never had trout.
@Bluesky1962 Could be. I don't like catfish, so I don't know.

@Casheyane it’s a food fish

Wow!! Looks ready to breed, I hope they released it.

Cherokee Patti - are trout and catfish the same? I have seen catfish and the only ones I've seen have long whiskers, growl like a dog, and are several shades of muddy brown with stinging painful spines. I thought trouts were different.

Wow I’m surprised it survived predators being so brightly colored
TexChik · F
@cherokeepatti I suspect it was a farm raised mutation and then released
Bluesky1962 · 61-69, M
@TexChik i didn't know they are that color,
TexChik · F
@Bluesky1962 got to be a selected mutation
Bluesky1962 · 61-69, M
what did you use for bait?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Bluesky1962 I didn’t catch it but assume that it was caught like other trout
MaryJanine · 61-69, F
@Bluesky1962 Worms, of course. Glenn did the baiting and removing from the hook. He didn't want me to get stung by a fin - but he did.

@RogueLoner The description I gave to Cherokee Patti are what I saw when I went to Pennsylvania. My hostess' husband took me fishing in the park around their corner, and catfish was what I caught.

@RogueLoner I don't remember the name of the park, exactly, but it was in Camp Hill in 1984. My host and hostess lived across the street and around the corner from it.
