I wonder what the vet would say if I brought in a possum to get shots and and a check up.

I had a friend who had a possum for several years....the mother was killed on an electric fence, and the baby had fallen off. His wife took the baby home.
My friend is a dentist, and the baby was fed by syringe until he could eat solid food.
They kept him in a crate during the day & let him out at night. He’d sit on his “mommy’s” shoulder and watch TV with them.
Yes, he got to be big and scary looking....but he didn’t know any life other than that of a pet, and he was well behaved.
They would take him to the vet occasionally during his lifetime (which was about 7-8 years).
@DragonFruit That's a long time for a possum to live.

@UnderLockDown Thanks for best comment.

maybe some specialists but i would question them because a lot of vets dont know what they are talking about specially animals they dont normally look over.
@undetermined Mostly just blood tests and vaccinations. If it's going to hang out and be friendly, I'm taking precautions.😊
@UnderLockDown possums rarely have diseases. like rabies
@undetermined True, but just to be on the safe side...

I wish my tail had that much of strength
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
@UnderLockDown lol! Yea I didn't notice that

I only care about my weak tail
@Donotfolowme If it's weak, then why do you care? Can something be done? Are there tail exercises?
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
@UnderLockDown I want to be able to hold up my body weight by my tail like the pic you uploaded

I am working on it, building muscles
