Once trust is gone it's hard to get back.

That doesn’t happen when my trust is betrayed. I write those people off.
Exactly!@Keepitsimple

My former fiancé cheated six weeks after he asked me to marry him. I have not forgiven him, don’t trust him, and never want to see him or hear from him ever again.

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP Everyone tells me that I dodged a bullet. I still hurt though.
ImperialAerosolKidFromEP · 51-55, M
@Fauxmyope2 of course it did. It did for me too (again and again and again). In the end, the only woman I tied the knot with is the best woman I could ever have

Several people have.
The two I forgave fairly quick. The current one, I struggle to forgive... But I'm trying.

PrivateHell · M
Yes. And it wasn't quick or easy.
ncgremlin · 61-69, M
Nope and never would
@saragoodtimes I loved an Italian very much he & his daughter betrayed me. The lies killed my trust more than once. I shouldnt have kept trusting but he was so convincing. Io sono molto triste.
Driver2 · M
It depends I can forgive but end up forgetting them all together
I try not to be like that but I always do . Sometimes you just have to follow what you feel.

I've forgiven but never forgot and that in its self changes the relationship you have with them.
@Beautywithin agree bc then you can’t look at them the same
No. I can be quite unforgiving, even after an insincere apology.
However, I am able to let the matter as well as the person go.

To the best of my ability, yes. The hurt and anger raises their heads now and again. But I try to forget their cruelties.

Yes of course
People change over time
You have to give them the chance to grow

Yes and about as quick as it took him to break it again lol
Yes. I don't hold grudges, so it comes easy with me.

I had to forgive my exgf for many things over a period of time. It was a complicated situation where i believed i was protecting her from herself. She was literally insane. I had to learn to instantly let go because alot of the time she wouldnt remeber and there would just be a path of destruction. I learned to control myself really well but the scars lasted for years after.
Yes a few people & I've forgiven them more than once.
TheOneyouwerewarnedabout · 46-50, MVIP
Forgiveness is not my department..
OnePatheticClown · 51-55, M

If I can see the person and not have what they did immediately come to mind, I would say I have forgiven them.
ImperialAerosolKidFromEP · 51-55, M
Forgiveness isn't my strong point
Azlotto · M
Never!
