I Hate My Country

I noticed in November a weird pimple in my belly. Got an appointment with my family doctor. He sent me to the dermatologist. Two months later he checked me and decided the pimple had to be removed. That was a month ago.

Supposedly I was having my (very minor) surgery today, but at the hospital they told me they will put me in a waiting list and will call me when the surgery may be carried out. But before I had to sign a lot of papers saying I took responsibility in the surgery results.

Three months and three doctors later nothing has been done. We used to have a great national health system. Now it is screwed.

Things can take forever in Canada too, the case i am thinking of, of a relative was a head scratcher of a thing so maybe that is what makes it take too long, another case involves the fact that if you go to the hospital in an ambulance you'll get taken care of swiftly, but if someone drives you you'll wait many hours and probably will get something that will just prolong the ordeal.

Hoping for a swift resolution for you.

Thank you my friend.
I had the idea that you had a very fine health system in Canada.

@Cierzo: It might be, but there is always isolated problems with some. Be well!

My sister lives in New Zealand and when she got a cancer in her skull they hospitalised her the same day and she is now cancer free .She said she was glad she wasn't in the uk as she was sure she would no longer with us had she relied on the N.H.S .All her care was free which also surprised her .

That's really a great health system. Here it works fine for urgenciez, but otherwise surgeries or appointments with specialists may be long delayed.

Hope you get it sorted soon and the pimple thing turn out to be benign

I think so. I want to think that if they are so cool about it, it is because they see no risk

a friend of mine has a specialist appointment
the practice keep sending text messages
saying
remember the consultation fees
they are astronomical !
they just care about the money
those fees aren't covered by the medical scheme

hope you will recover soon.

I don't think it is anything serious, It is just bothering to go from one doctor to another but nothing is done
