Some people love gossip until they find out the same people they were gossiping with are now gossiping about them. What goes around comes around.

I worked with people who would make the rounds attempting to gather personal information about others and spread it around. They were so compulsive that some of them continued after they retired. My way of handling it when they showed up at lunch time was to brag on the new things my birds said or did. I didn’t care if they thought I was simple I kept doing it and they would leave

As a woman who must swim through a lobby full of gossipy and vicious women, (and a few men), every time I go downstairs for my mail, I completely agree with the above. That is why I keep to myself in this apartment building.
