Heaven Beside You is a song by Alice in Chains. When I found EP all those years ago I identified with this song in a big way laying next to my husband in bed at night. I would lay there for hours, struggling with trying to find another way, perhaps a different way, something I hadn't thought of, hadn't tried, hadn't begged for. Something, anything, that would fix this mess of a marriage. I would lay there, and quietly cry out of frustration and hurt and helplessness.

I have been divorced now for many years, but I will always love this song. It still speaks to me, but now more from a place of strength than of weakness.

Yes, it's painful to be in love with someone that doesn't love you.💔I've never heard this before, thanks for sharing and I'm so sorry you had to go through that with your ex.😞Many of us can relate.

@Peaches If you asked him he would say he still loves me, even though it's been almost 10 years since our divorce, and I believe him.

Being empathetic by nature I have learned is the #1 thing narcisissists look for and cling to, which is a large part of why I remain single.
