I Am Insecure Around Rich People

Logically I understand that they're human just like me. But in this country, money = privilege and the illusion of being "better" than everyone else.

I fall under that spell sometimes, feeling inferior to people who have more money than me. 😞

I'm the other way around, I don't know why... Among rich people I feel at ease, almost superior, even as I've never been rich (high middle class at most, when I was a kid)... Maybe I'm just aware they're not better than me in anyway. Not necessarily worse, but rich people are not definitely smarter or more cultured than the average person... If anything, I look down of them for their belief that their wealthier status is a validation of their "betterness"....
