@TexChik Klemperer was born in Cologne, Germany, to a musical family but he said that he had little musical aptitude.[2] His father was renowned conductor Otto Klemperer and his mother was soprano Johanna Geisler. He had a younger sister named Lotte (1923–2003). His father was Jewish by birth; he converted to Catholicism but later returned to Judaism. His mother was Lutheran. Otto Klemperer was a first cousin of Victor Klemperer.[3]

The Klemperer family emigrated to the United States in 1935, settling in Los Angeles, where Otto Klemperer became conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Werner Klemperer began acting in high school and enrolled in acting courses at the Pasadena Playhouse[1] before joining the United States Army to serve in World War II. While stationed in Hawaii, he joined the Army's Special Services unit, spending the next years touring the Pacific entertaining the troops. At the war's end, he performed on Broadway before moving into television acting.

Shazam that's a good one. I'm going with Green acres. The absurdity (is that a word?) and other subtle zingers. You got there Ziffles and Arnold, Mr Haney always showed up when you needed something, I forgot the mailman's name he was self confusing. Mr Douglas, Oliver Douglas which confused everyone and Mrs Douglas, she's the one that gave blond a bad name I think. I still know the song.
When I was in the Marines even people from North Carolina called me Gomer. My mother was borned and raised in West Virginia and when I was 6 months old we moved to Kentucky. So maybe they're right. Goooolllly

Gomer Pyle( Jim Nabors) got me when he started singing.
I was in the Marines also. Lol that’s another reason I picked Gomer Pyle@kentex35

@kentex35 the characters on Green Acres were amazing. The couple with Arnold the pug were perfect. So was Mr Haney?

@AnneHoney hahaha maybe . I liked Andy Griffith ... but both of those shows weren’t interesting to me 🤷🏻‍♀️. They were on forever so I am in the minority
Gomer Pyle was sexier. But Green Acres was more glitzy eleganza.
