Same here. But I also didn't like Stranger Things, or Orange Is The New Black.

I couldn’t get into the show because the books were so much better.

I think it might have been the hype. I kept getting promised there'll be dragons and such. Then I'm watching a few episodes and I've barely seen any. Just be real about the description. It really is a good series, but when it's advertised as something it's not, that can deter people.
