Jedi or Sith?

As cool as the Dark Side is, I gotta go with the Jedi myself. Sith doctrine relies too heavily on betrayal for someone with as deep a sense of friendship as me. I relate to the Dark Side's focus on anger and passion, but not to its utilization of fear or insecurity.

With sith, there can only be a master and an apprentice....

We sticking to movies or including EU stuff?

Though I think both would probably be Sith. Jedi and their weird emphasis on self-denial and neutrality ain't my style.

@UndeadPrivateer The self-denial and refusal to accept human nature is easily the biggest flaw of the Jedi. But keep in mind, most of that philosophy is only dominant among Jedi doctrine in the prequel series.

Someone-who-is-not-me once characterized this choice (in different context, but with a basically similar question) as choosing between either spending your life casting ineffectual spells against imaginary evils or wallowing in impotent megalomania. I'd probably reject both and make my own Force-style.

In the extremely unlikely event that I could be persuaded that is impossible, I'd go with Sith, as both sides seemed like first-rate asshats to me, and I'd prefer betraying and murdering a sociopathic edgelord to spending my life in fawning obedience to a circle-jerk of deranged moralizers.

@Keraunos I'm going heavily on Legends material so it's not nearly so black and white.

Rogue/hermit Jedi. The Sith generally use their own weakness and failings until it falls back on them, and they get vainy face.
The Jedi are too naive from not understanding malevolence, and it's their undoing.
So awareness of both is best just like it is in real life.
