From The Empire's point of view...I think The Death Star exploding would be pretty near to the 911 disaster.

Except a million times worse...I mean, in both Legends AND Canon The Death Star bankrupted The Empire...BUT they still turned it around with a major PR campaign, y'know painting The Rebels as even worse terrorists than they were before, trying to get the whole Empire wanting revenge, that kind of thing.

Yup. I could see the Empire calling it an advance mining platform or something like that. And then along came these uppity rebels, blowing it up, killing thousands, and trying to strangle our empire of need resources!

@Fangirlsarah1996 They must know something, like that it has a higher speed limit at least. But what I meant was energy dense. Where ever all that power comes from is incredibly energy dense. Releasing it all, or even part of it, in an explosion probably would have destroyed Endor, the planet, maybe the next planet over too. Same with Star Killer base. At any rate, I'd like to recommend a new path for the 1st Order...the conquest of Hyperspace! lol

@Xuan12 Oh it does have higher speed limits, they're limited by ship power to weight ratios however.

The Falcon for example is a re purposed cargo ship, so it has a lot of torque compared to most ships, plenty of retooling by Han makes it one of if not the fastest ship in the known galaxy.

But things like ISD's take a lot more to shift.

But no, Kyber Crystals are simply a way of amplifying energy, lightsabers work on the same principle, yet they do not explode when broken.

Starkiller Base however does not use Kyber Crystals, it used energy taken directly from stars, that's why it went "Supernova"

@Fangirlsarah1996 It's still coming from somewhere. You put 1amp into a kyber crystal and it spits out 6amps, it got the other 5 from somewhere. And yeah, the MF could make the same trip that takes an ISD 16 days in about 4 days.

They probably already referred to the rebellion as a terrorist organization
Fangirlsarah1996 · 26-30, F
@vetguy1991 Yeah but still...nobody would really take them seriously, I mean, before The Death Star they were getting the shit kicked out of them.

@McFly Speaking of which, Luke Skywalker is one of the greatest mass murderers in the Star Wars galaxy.

Heck, most of the people on The Death Star didn't even know it was a weapon of mass destruction!

Worst terrorist attack in history.

@SW-User You're welcome lol

But yeah it's strange how a story that was written by a guy that, in his own words says that he isn't good at dialogue, has one of the most complex, multi-layered stories in sci fi history.

I mean...a lot of the characters aren't really that evil...a lot aren't that good either...I mean, Han Solo flat out shoots a guy the first time we see him (Han Shot first motherfucker) and Vader was the one who beat the big bad guy, not Luke.

@Fangirlsarah1996 I know, it is crazy! The good guy is a stone cold killer and the bad guy is the hero that saves the day...whoa.
Fangirlsarah1996 · 26-30, F
@SW-User This is still in the era of Hollywood where good and bad were VERY black and white...the grey area wasn't even a "thing" yet.

@tenente Imperial pilots who survived The Battle Of The First Death Star had serious PTSD afterwards...some going as far as blaming themselves for it "If I'd just done something better..." that kind of thing...
