I Dont Believe In Dating Just For the Sake of Dating

I've really come to terms with this. I have been obsessed with falling in love all my life. Movies, television, cartoons, and the media hype up love so much. I am not saying that having a life long relationship with the love of your life is not amazing, but it shouldn't be promoted so much that people are so desperate for it and put themselves in toxic relationships consistently.
Especially at a young age, we are only beginning to understand who we are as people and what we want to do with our lives. There's so many things we don't know about the complexity of human emotions.
I went from one guy to another for a year straight. It was so fun to have mutual feelings for someone and to celebrate that until it ended. But it always ended. My goal in the beginning of those several relationships is to find a life partner, regardless if I told myself I was just casually dating or not. In the back of my mind, I knew that these guys were not long term compatible and that this "fun" with my emotions was damaging me.
Its just not worth it anymore. I am lonely as hell, but a relationship will not solve that. Short-term romance is not what I'm built for.
