Am I the only dork who adores Ancient Aliens

Not saying I believe in Ancient Aliens. But I freaking love watching all the little tidbits of history, religious texts, and science fact and how they are used in the Ancient Alien theories.

WE are not the only intelligent being in the universe even though religion tells us that God only created our planet earth,I believe other civilisations coming from the universe have visited us,or some of our own civilisations were quite advanced but disappeared in time and left traces that truly surprised us.But I certainly believe that our earth has and is being visited by advanced beings who made sprirituality their aim rather than the material and this is why they are so advanced, they are watching us and do not interfere in any ways as we have to learn from our mistakes, but I am not sanguine about it,seeing what happens in the world now and who is at the helm of our world.
@berangere Statistically, we are definitely not the only sentient beings in the universe (and possibly not the only sentient beings on Earth). But, don't know how likely it is that every amazing thing that humans did in pre-history that we can't understand is actually the result of alien overlords genetically manipulating human DNA and using us as slaves. Maybe there were aliens, or maybe there's another explanation. I don't know. Maybe aliens are visiting Earth right now since there is so much evidence of UFOs. I don't know. I just like seeing how the show interprets stuff.

If the aliens are waiting for us to develop, they will be waiting for a very long time.

@CleverFunnyNameGoesHere The short answer is that they are watching us destroy ourselves.
@berangere Pretty much. Though according to some people they are also breeding with us at the same time and I find that to be a conflict of interests. Like, why would they breed with us and let us destroy ourselves at the same time?

@CleverFunnyNameGoesHere You will read a lot of"Conspiracy theories" about aliens,I take some and I leave some.
@berangere I love all the conspiracy theories. Buut the ones about aliens were a lot more fun before governments starting confirming that UFO's were real.

@berangere
WE are not the only intelligent being in the universe even though religion tells us that God only created our planet earth
Well that's not 100% correct.. God created both the heaven and the earth and he created Angels who are intelligent beings apart from us Human beings..

Angels do not have the universe as their home like we do.. But Angels can enter into our existence and when they do they are aliens in this universe..

@CleverFunnyNameGoesHere UFO are real, I believe I saw one in the late 40's when I was 8 years old, when having a walk with may mother on the road we saw a flying saucer for a good 2 minutes and it was quite silent then it disappeared,in those days planes were making a real racket so one could not excuse what we saw as being a plane and it did not look like a plane and it certainly was not a "weather baloon"
berangere · 80-89, F
@Adstar Regarding angels I believe you, some of them are on earth in different forms, and yes God created both the heaven and the earth but he also created life on other planets,as he created the heaven that never ends, but the church have us believe that He only created humanoid life on our planet earth, that I do not buy.
@berangere I've never seen a UFO in person myself. I've still only seen them on TV. That is cool that you've seen one. Still kind of preferred it when I could pass them off as not verified. The idea of superadvanced beings watching us silently and maybe kidnapping people at will is a little terrifying.
berangere · 80-89, F
@CleverFunnyNameGoesHere Yes, a few years back there were stories on TV talking about people being kidnapped ny aliens and made to share their DNA with them, some people even testified that it happened to them, that they were taken aboard a UFO and test done on them, some of those test painful and some women even impregnated. It could well be true, but those beings are so advanced that they could easily take over our planet and make slaves out of us( as seen in some science fiction movie),the fact that they have not done so and let us carry on with our lives proves that we have nothing to fear from them.
@berangere Good point. I've also recently learned about "Simulation Theory" which is also pretty scary.
berangere · 80-89, F
@CleverFunnyNameGoesHere From Google "Simulation theory maintains that humans understand and predict others' mental states and behavior not by deploying a body of internally represented knowledge structured like a theory, but by employing their own cognitive capacities and mechanisms to mentally model others' cognitive processes." in other word mind control.Yes that would be scary. But it is already being done with brainwashing.
@berangere No. Simulation Theory from quantum mechanics. That our consciousness are all programs in a simulation. And that all unexplained phenomena are glitches in the code or the programmers making changes to the program.

@CleverFunnyNameGoesHere So,it would take negate all supernatural phenonema that give life meaning and hope that our souls live on.
@berangere I don't know that supernatural phenomena are the only thing that gives life meaning. I think that the fact that we exist is meaningful in and of itself and that a lot of people don't cherish others/strangers/living things/or existence in general as much as they might otherwise because they believe that there is some kind of existence after death.

I find the concept fascinating because there's the possibility that everything is s simulation, that some of us are simulations that "real" beings are interacting with, or that some of us (maybe all of us) are living in a matrix style simulation with NPCs to keep everything on track.

Quantum physicists have actually calculated the point on the micro-scale at which reality ceases to function properly (basically what our pixel size is) and have been able to observe that the laws of physics on quantum particles are not influenced by what is actually happening in real-time but by the specifics that seem programmed into "the simulation".

Don't know if I believe it, but it almost makes paranormal experiences into an important part of figuring out what the parameters and purpose of the program are. Is there anything else? Somewhere outside the program? Do we have bodies? Can we interact with a "Real World"? It's fascinating as a thought experiment and a puzzle I would love to solve. Maybe. You know?
berangere · 80-89, F
@CleverFunnyNameGoesHere Yes I certainly agree with you that the fact that we exist is meaningful in and of itself and yes we must cherish what we have now because although many of us believe in an existance beyond this earthly plane,we don't know what is awating for us there and things might not be what we believe,so we should cherish the good people and things that are in our life now. Some religions don't value the physical life they have, giving more importance to the one where they will meet their God,I believe fundamantal Islam is one of them, I could even say the same about fundamental Christianity.
As for quantum physic and may be all of us living in a matrix style simulation,I have not really come across this concept, but I tend to believe in parallel universes, different dimentional worlds occuring at the same time with different vibrational levels and structures.
@berangere I was definitely fond of the multiverse model.
