I wonder if anyone who wore a mask and stayed at least 6-feet apart

from others, has still caught the virus? Do you know anyone who followed all the rules, and still became infected?

It is highly likely because neither of those methods are foolproof and nobody has said that they are. You are trying to minimise the risk, that's all. Masks and social distancing reduce the risk.

That’s true that you are minimizing the risk. I’d really like to know the stats for all those who went by the rules, and still got sick. I doubt they even count this. @SW-User

@Carissimi The most quoted study at present only involved a small number of people, they only had anecdotal evidence that procedures were followed correctly and they couldn't testify to whether the virus was caught when people were wearing masks or when they weren't, because nobody wears them 24/7.

Masks have been shown to be effective to a degree, as has social distancing. Multiple studies have confirmed this. Of course, there are many external factors that can affect the effectiveness of either.

My youngest sister had. She wasn't too badly affected by it, though. She said it was like a bad flu.

I don't personally know anyone who caught it, but I wouldn't put it beyond the bounds of possibility.

we touch our faces
also when we remove the mask so there is a chance

They say 75% of ones who test positive are wearing mask most the time

The problem is they are now saying many had it in feb/march before the lockdown when people weren't entirely sure what it was exactly and since people can have it with no symptoms its likely more than the amount that's actually statistically contracted it

Yes. Hidin' Sleepy Baby-trump followed all the rules... beautifully. No one knows more about following the rules that Sleepy Baby-trump. And, he got infected. And, while "rounding the corner" he got whisked away by airlift to the hospital for expert care while he entrusted the care of everyone else in the hands of crackpots.

Hidin' Sleepy Baby-trump did everything right and he still caught the virus. And, now he feels better than ever. And, he is whining even more than he did before. And, all he gets are tough questions. No one has ever suffered more... than Baby-trump.

I doubt anyone is 100% compliant. Even if they are then the masks and social distancing reduce the risk of transmission but do not totally eliminate the possible infection.

I’m very sorry for your loss. Did she have an underlying condition? @Dragongirlkas

@JAYS21 I'm very glad you both survived. This covid 19 is obviously a very serious thing and I hope there will be a safe vaccine soon.

I would imagine that, all those people no one would touch with a 10 foot pole are pretty healthy. Hah, talk about poetic justice huh?
purplepen · 51-55, F
Yes. Both people I know of who had it kept all the rules.

It does protect you to an extent, especially if you double mask, or wear an N 95. I think a double mask reduces your risk of infection by about 70%. Thats a significant reduction. Also, if you do catch it, it’s likely to be less of a viral load wearing a mask, so you are less likely to suffer serious complications. @Sheer
