Lol. I habe a few of these I have aquired as hand me downs and from bulk wrench boxes at garage sales.
One end will be a 10"", 8"", or 6"" qhile the other end is the next size down. 10&8, 8&6, 6&4. So you could have both sizes in one. Though they are pretty impracticle and rarely provide a solution to any real problem. There's a reasom they faded into obscurity. There's a lot of tools from 100 years ago that at the time might have been handy or more often provided an assumed benefit to the avergage home consumer. Which the former being the only thing needed to make a sale. There's plenty of modern versions of that type of tool such as universal sockets, adjustable box end ratchets, and robobrip pliers

@averageguy I'm almost certain these mostnof these werenprobably bought by home.owner types who thought it was a two for one deal. Though I have noticed that they do show up along very old boilermaker, steamfitters, and plumbers tools. So they seemed to have been wellmlikednin those fields at one time for some reason.

@averageguy another possibilty I have thought of before was that union or common industry rules stated two sizes in a personal kit and these were marketed just as a cheaper option to satisfy a requirment.
