My boss was thrown a HUGE curveball, and everyone had to stop what they were doing and be put on this one single project...
But the main person of the project retired, leaving only new people to the group to work on it, and they don't know the tools well enough yet.
And us that are being pulled off other projects, aren't getting a full idea of the requirements needed so we don't know what needs to be done or how everything contacts.
My boss is getting frustrated, but it's like, you're not communicating with us ... you're trying to do this to fast.

Bosses are like that. They want us to do the impossible to meet their expected goal.

@mindstruggle I think the issue is that we don't know what he knows, and he thinks we do know what he knows.
But the people that have been on the project the longest don't know Excel and what we expect things to be set up.
And the rest of us that do know that, don't understand how different items of this project connect or how they relate to each other.
I think the time line is correct, but we need at least one person that knows the project, and one person that knows the Excel expectations to be able to work together... and he's trying to keep us all on our own tasks right now.

Ah I see, man that's frustrating. Has any of you tried to brought that up? I'm sure you have meetings.

@mindstruggle The boss has since realized the issue and has decided that he's the only one that can do it correctly...
As he's the only one that knows both ...
I'm not sure why, but since we lost half the team to retiring/firing he's been extremely anti-meetings other than ones he's conducting.

That makes a bit more sense now, even if it’s still frustrating. It sounds like he’s under a lot of pressure and trying to keep control by centralizing everything but that approach ends up bottlenecking the process and keeping everyone else in the dark.
It’s tough when communication gets limited, especially after a big team shift like that. But you’re doing the right thing by staying aware of the gaps and trying to find ways to work through them. If nothing else, keep documenting what you can and staying clear on your end.

@mindstruggle Yeah, I think I understand where he's coming from, but whenever he asks for something lately, it's like, your request isn't making sense.
And team members have to talk to each other to figure it out, or let two team members work on that tone project, or the boss and excel teammate.
