Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
Yes and no. Employers knew the place I quit had a high turnover.

@CrazywaterspringCurious to know, has anyone from that place ever been listed as your reference?
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
Yeah & no. I quit my first job when they texted me asking if I could cover for a driver that day. I told them no because I wasn't coming in that day & that I'd actually never be coming in ever again. Then I stuck to that. My final paycheck from them was 1 penny. Not even joking. So I think I made the right choice

@ChiefJustWalks Sorry to hear that. How long were you there?
Justafantasy · M
Yes, I had to throw matches and poor gasoline to burn the bridge.

You’re seen more valuable if you are the one that quit your jobs rather getting fired

I quit Arby’s mid shift as a teen. Zero repercussions

I used to work for a particular high end spa, I was employed as an aromatherapist but they were getting me to do more and more treatments that I wasn't qualified for and I didn't know how to do them. The manager on one occasion told me to "just wing it" but people were paying for professional treatments and it wasn't fair. One day I had a few extremely strong words with the manager and I was told that that's how it is and if I didn't like it, I should leave. I handed my resignation in. It didn't hurt my career.
Yes, and yes.
Still don’t care.

Some bridges are meant to be burned down so certain people can never find their way back to you. I'm not saying we should be making enemies out of thin air, but some people and places never change. Seeing them vanish in your rearview mirror is the best thing you can do. After all, we are human, and we are far more capable than we think. Every decision and every turn we’ve taken has led us exactly to this point. A couple of burnt bridges aren’t going to change the successful course of our future.
