I even applied for a couple of manufacturing positions
It will be more physical than my last job, but that won't be bad once I get used to it. The only thing that scares me is the possibility of my health issues preventing me from being able to do the work and keep perfect attendance. Historically my health has been a big hindrance for me in that regard.
The issues I have are debilitating when they flare up, but they don't flare up all the time. So it's unpredictable and there's no way to know how long the episodes will last. It's horrible. And of course employers don't have a lot of sympathy for that.
I applied for disability benefits years ago when my health issues were first diagnosed and proved to be debilitating, but kept being denied even with a lawyer. I haven't tried again since. I'd like to work, I don't WANT to survive on disability alone, so I push myself to keep trying. But as I get older it's definitely getting harder.
