Last day yesterday

I've worked my last day at the bank.

In the end 28 years since joining as a school leaver at 18. Yes I had a break when I had my kids but I've never worked for another company.

It was insisted I work tills right up to last customers. Just before the doors were closed in came my kids. They'd arranged this. They were my last customers. I'd been fine until I saw them in the queue. I started crying serving the lady before them. She was concerned but I was saying it's my last day and my kids just came in.

Then cake, I got a voucher I wasn't expecting from everyone and then leaving drinks at a local pub which I left early with the kids and my bf to go get fish n chips to eat at home.

A few weeks off then on to pastures new.

One of my nieces left a bank after 23 years due to the closure of the branch. She was very sad, but it encouraged her to retrain and is now a maternity nurse. The best thing she ever did
@NannyJ This is a heartening story: seeing the opportunity.

My dad worked 45 years for the same company. He only ever worked for one company his entire life. Best of lunch with the new path

How excellent for you. Though, my last day on the job, don't be expecting too much of anything out of me. 😁
It's scary to just quit a job and have nothing lined up. It's good you're in a position to do so, especially in this economy. Good luck with your next adventure.
