The not getting attached to your patients advice is bullshit.
Not only it isn't realistic, it is counter-productive. You will end up dehumanizing yourself and the process by completely switching off feelings.
Feel, love, care, bond, grieve and accept. It does get more natural as you go through it knowingly and look at sadness as a normal part of existence just like happiness.
