I never knew there was such a job

ethicist
/ĕth′ĭ-sĭst/

noun
A specialist in ethics.
One who is versed in ethics, or has written on ethics.
A person, especially a philosopher, who studies principles governing right and wrong conduct.

Apparently corporations have such folks on staff, trying to keep them on the straight and narrow, I guess so they can be ignored.

One person's definition of ethics can be much different than another's. I used to work for the state university in my state. We had a governor who had to resign in disgrace (a sexual relationship with a subordinate who was about to sue him for sexual harrassment). A few years later our state university hired him to teach ethics. Everyone was in disbelief.
@chuck7882 Yep.
