UK quietly drops mandatory digital ID for the right to work (ie have a job) in the UK
but it doesn't stop the overall push towards digitisation of identity proofing, etc. in lots of other areas including the workplace.
There's a view that within about 5 years most countries will push for everyone to have a smart phone to have digital licenses, etc and end the use of physical license cards or paper licences.
Here in Oz our federal government keeps quietly pushing it's digital ID agenda by trying to make it mandatory to have a digital ID to access federal government services.
This will flow into other things like public and personal/private transport, marine, aviation, etc. where access will be controlled via digital ID, digital money and social credit scores (The UN/WEF 'Agenda 2030').
