Our annual bonuses are tied to our annual reviews.
I've always gotten something. Early in my career it was cash. Then they wanted to save money so offered time off as an option. I care more about time than money so nowadays I always take time off.
I was given the highest rating last year (odd, since I did not work harder, but maybe they are finally realizing how useful I am!). My bonus was an entire week of vacation time.
I may just take off more Fridays, though.
