Yes. For me, it is people interactions for the most part. We are constantly having difficult or unpleasant conversations with people, and people are usually on the defensive or cautious side. Probing and asking the right questions is a skill to get information people won’t volunteer otherwise. Being able to debate your professional opinion and corroborate it with strong evidence that no one will volunteer to give you, while maintaining cool and knowing how to deal with different people using different temperament and tone, as some will attack you to intimidate you, others will be defensive, and some will be overly nice but dodge etc. All of that back and forth with people and managing the relationship and keeping it civil, while ensuring you meet strict timelines and getting high quality work with well supported conclusions should you get reviewed, or questioned by anyone especially by regulators, makes the job stressful.
But I will say I actually like my job, and I thrive in a challenging and fast paced environment. I tried to change my job recently and be on the other side. Got the offer and rejected it because since I started the interview process I knew it is not what I wanted, but still went with it and wanted to see the outcome.
