Just gonna write it all out & get a different perspective...

The psychiatric hospital just offered me a job. Housekeeping. But it's a state job so that means much more money & better benefits.
My current job pays way less with fewer benefits but it's what I love to do, hands on with dementia patients.
So do I go with the higher pay & possible unhappiness or do I stay with what I love??
I'm on meds myself so I always have to consider my own mental wellbeing when accepting job offers.
I really really need the money & stability of the hospital position.
Gaaahhhh I hate major decisions....

Just my personal opinion. I wouldn't dare leave the job you love. I know a lady in her 50s that does housekeeping and I tell you it's back breaking and the older she gets the harder it is on her body and her bones and it's really killing her. I feel like God has you right where he wants you, for good reason. I wouldn't dare switch. You couldn't pay me to switch if I were you. The benefits may be good but boy it's going to play wear and tear on your body and you'll suffer later. More money and benefits sure won't do any good if your body is broken down day after day. That's hard work and you've worked too hard to get where you're at, studies and all. To me you answered your own question when you talked about how much you love your job. How many people can say that and they have raised the retirement age so if you got into a backbreaking job and that is hard cuz I've done it and don't like it, you will have left the job you love.
