Just gonna write it all out & get a different perspective...

The psychiatric hospital just offered me a job. Housekeeping. But it's a state job so that means much more money & better benefits.
My current job pays way less with fewer benefits but it's what I love to do, hands on with dementia patients.
So do I go with the higher pay & possible unhappiness or do I stay with what I love??
I'm on meds myself so I always have to consider my own mental wellbeing when accepting job offers.
I really really need the money & stability of the hospital position.
Gaaahhhh I hate major decisions....

take the state job.
better pay/benefits.
you can't afford to do the job you love - and if I remember some places didn't bother to pay you, right?

you don't sign a contract - if you can't stand the job then you can always give notice - I bet your current employer is hurting for workers and wouldl love to take you back - if not - somebody else will.

@Pretzel True!!
@Pretzel I think that's a foolish move. You don't know that she'll be able to find another job if she doesn't like that one and it's going to really be hard on her body the older she gets. With jobs being scarce, nobody knows if she'll be able to get something else if she doesn't like the housekeeping job. That's not a guarantee and that's not secure. She can't afford to do a backbreaking job either. She's worked too hard to get where she's at. She's already on meds.
