Yes, sadly.

Yes, for my old Madame. She would run both a brothel and the street girls. Whilst most on the streets have reliable, there had been the odd one that wasn't. So, 'encouraged' rather than 'forced' from the brothel stable to join the street girls, for a night or two, to add to their 'street presence', if that makes sense.
More girls working for a Madame on the street, more percentage of revenue to collect...as well as safety in numbers.
Being good at my job meant that I did that. Never liked it. Don't like being 'seen' working in the profession. But I did it.
Meanwhile the lazy one would get kicked to the curb.

I've made a career out of being a reliable goto. Sometimes that means covering for others. But when the work is done, that's often followed up with a conversation about what is being done about the issue.

Yep. All the time at the Dept. Of Welfare.
Supervisors will walk past the desk of someone that EVERYBODY knows does virtually nothing all day every day and not see there are file folders stacked haphazardly until somebody somewhere holds the supervisors accountable. Then they swoop in, reduce the work load of the offender and parcel it out to other caseworkers who ARE doing their job.

@Mamapolo2016 My wife studied public administration, and she told me that in some governmental offices they have what are known as 'turkey farms.' These are places to put low productivity staff so they don't poison the atmosphere among the hard-working people like you describe.

@ElwoodBlues And, when all else fails, promote them.

Yeah running multiple positions because one coworker won't stop talking to the customers leaving everyone else out to dry.

Yes practically every day. I have a co-worker that is a complete slacker, calls out all the time, and I end up doing her job for her and mine and I am sick of it.

Not that I recall.

and lack of basic capabilities. Which is why I started my own business and charge them 3x as a consultant lol
DareToSayIT · 31-35, M
@tenente I started my own business 4 years ago. I still have to work with certain clients with no clue lol. The good thing is I can move on.

@DareToSayIT same! Started my business over 10 years ago now. Clients challenge my patience daily lol! Yes, being a "hired gun" means eat what you kill, but also means I can fire my client if they don't get the joke
