I hate ending a conversation with the thumbs up 👍 like on MS Teams because it feels passive aggressive

But also I think I'm supposed to give it as a matter of procedure instead of leaving on read?

One of those generational things maybe

Yeah, same. My boss used to do it all the time so now I just read 👍 as corporate for "approved, move on." Still feels a little cold, though.

@mindstruggle Like I feel bad when I do it back haha
@DDonde
Yea me too. I really don't like doing it personally
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I wish it was normalized but I try to avoid using it because I feel like some people might find it rude.
DDonde · 31-35, M
@CrazyMusicLover I normally avoid, too, outside of this work

I do it if someone keeps replying after the conversation has clearly ended and i have no more to say. It's better than not replying at all.
Anyone who's offended by a few pixels is ultra sensitive imo.
it is common practice where i work......... thumbs up here is meant to be condescending 90 percent of the time. there are exceptions, some people are genuine.

DDonde · 31-35, M

I like they keep it open ended so you can use any emoji. Kinda wish you could do that here
Try ending on half a word, like th
DDonde · 31-35, M

wackidywack · 26-30

It is passive aggressive and rude.
Achelois · F
@DDonde

I tend not to use it because of that reason.
DDonde · 31-35, M
@Achelois People use it all the time at my work as the default
Achelois · F
@DDonde
People are funny, they know exactly what they are doing using it.
