Tough for families to see the body outliving the mind. With my parent I could see it was tough for the staff. Mine was happy as he left us, so we didn’t have to suffer meanness too. And he left us still knowing everyone’s name. I was there at the end and he went peacefully at night.

I have worked in aged care before and I met a lot of beautiful people. They came and went. So sad. I cried many times when the people I was close to left us. They gave me good memories.

Yup. Runs in my family, so if I live long enough I am not letting it take me. I will come up with a solid exit plan

There is nothing worse than that, especially if you end up in some of these places that abuse you. I have seen some horrible things.

I'm sure he liked your company in the moment.

Dementia is horrible.

All that life experience.
All those life affirming joys.
All those intimate moments shared by only the rare few. Gone.

That is so sad 😔
