Have you ever cried at work?

I'm almost ashamed to say but I at age 34 cried at work today because I was verbally abused hard by a customer all because we quit carrying what he wanted. I offered something similar but nope he decided to just unload on me calling me worthless and a piece of sh*t and all sorts of choice names. There's been trouble with this particular guy before running scams for returns and whatnot in the past so I recognized his face but I've never really had to deal with him myself until today and man I'm not going to lie I almost walked out. There were other customers around but not a single person did anything. I don't expect anyone to defend me but I hoped at least one person would tell him to shut up. I've been dealing with a ton of crap lately as is so I really didn't need that. I did not wake up this morning to come to work to be treated like an actual punching bag.

Anytime you have PITA customers, it is best to let the manager deal with them.
Typically they are going to ask for one anyways.

I had worked at the same store for 13 years and aside a few customers acting gh3tto, I had very few incidents of personal insults.

We did have a few customers who were known crooks. I do not know why management allowed them to shop there.

But yeah such customers typically pull the same stunts everywhere they go.
