My work is always…interesting I guess is the right word

But today is downright wild

Even for what we usually deal with

Basically this one guy has a constitutional right to get out of detention before his trial, but the moment he sets foot free he’s committing a crime and he have to have him arrested on the spot

And we’re supposed to figure out what to do with this without the help of the judiciary or the department of corrections

At least I’m never bored

@DunningKruger No, him leaving the detention center will violate a different bond order for a different crime, which will mean he has to be arrested and returned

We regularly deal with the most niche of niche legal situations, it’s kind of our thing

But even for us this guy is in a weird spot

I have to be a bit vague for legal reasons I doubt any of this will make any sense I just needed to vent

@DunningKruger It’s illegal for him to stay in detention for this crime because he paid his bond

But also once he leaves he’ll be in violation of another bond for a different crime or

And the only reason any of this happening is because the judiciary and the DOC are under a lot of pressure to discharge as many people as possible so they don’t care he’ll be immediately arrested and sent right back in, it will still count as a discharge for their numbers
