I got punched on the face today at work

He didn't mean to punch me. I was in the way trying to de-escalate the fight.
He got arrested.
This is the second time I get injured by a patient.
First time in Canada.
I am as tired as I was 14 hours ago but also in pain.
Just laying my head and resting.

This is happening in hospitals and professional offices around the western world (& maybe further?) to such an extent that they now have permanent security guards and signs saying that rude and agressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
I think it has something to do with the ice epidemic.
But it might also be due to cost cutting, "efficiencies", and ambulance ramping. People get desperate to be seen, especially if they have extreme pain or life threatening ill-health.
Some people are dying because they don't get seen soon enough.
I don't blame staff. I remember well back when this never happened.
I blame governments and their unwillingness to keep pace with larger populations and inflation.
