So I had a job interview a few months ago

I didn’t really want the job I just wanted to leverage an offer for more money at my current position

It was the strangest interview of my life. They were asking all these specific questions about my current job, what we did, etc…

HR was there, not just some rando either she was the head of some division in HR, over the whole state level stuff, it was so strange

Then during a conversation we were currently having at work we all realized what it was

They were just curious

Where I work is like a phantasm in the Department of Mental Health, whispered rumors on the winds

We have first hand accounts of people dealing with the budget calling others to ask about our funding only to receive the advice “do not under any circumstances mess with them or their money”

But we’re on a first name basis with the chief council and other big names, everyone knows we exist but nobody has any idea what we actually do. Or even where we are located. And they just wanted to find out about us 🤣

I worked in HR and the company did interviews like a tribunal, it started after i was hiired though because i would have been intimidated. There were 4 of us doing the interviewing and we each had to ask the person questions in our field. At the time i was advocating accompanying people with mental/physical disabilities to court, helping them obtain jobs, get apartments etc...so i asked the potential hiree about clients rights and about abuse, neglect, and exploitation, there was a med tech there, she'd ask them about their history with medication administration and so on and so forth.

@AngelUnforgiven It does sound a lot like that. I’ve just had dozens of interviews with various levels of government and never had one like this
