Hmmmm, I am working with a hiring manager and was suggested to reject an applicant because they are too senior

I'm in two minds about this. This person has clearly worked in higher positions and this would be a step down, but that's their choice. They bring the skills, maybe pretty soon they'll want a different position but we still benefit from that.

My Dad had to retire for health reasons,especially long travel reasons...he kept getting the overqualified ,will leave line

He wouldn't have and I think not working shortened his life by many years...he just needed a close by job he could do well
