Americans definitely want manufacturing jobs. But a large portion of the US manufacturing sector moved offshore years ago due to high corporate taxes and low cost labor. It wasn't that we didn't want the jobs; it was that the jobs were no longer available. If conditions are made favorable, offshore manufacturing will repatriate, and Americans will happily fill those jobs.

@BizSuitStacy It would be helpful, great even, but I am not sure enough people will really want to...

@fun4us2b A livable wage and some healthcare and there will be plenty of applicants. It is a liberal lie that we need dryfronts to take those jobs. AI will eliminate more and more dryfront jobs.

@fun4us2b I think people will if the jobs pay well. We tend to forget there were good jobs in the steel, auto, textile industries, etc. There can be again.

@AmericanAvenger I hope you're right but my company offers that and the young folks go elsewhere for the higher wages without healthcare....

@BizSuitStacy Very true - hopefully there are people with the right skills out there...it's been a while.

@fun4us2b If uneducated dusty dryfronts can do it, Americans can do it.

@fun4us2b a very good point. A close friend of mine is one of the few Americans remaining that has the knowledge to set up textile plants. He's in his 70s. It will take some time to get younger people up to speed.

@BizSuitStacy Stop giving govt freebies and require job training for work that is needed - the labor pool will flourish.
