I remember years ago when the company I was a Director for decided to change insurance carriers.
Management had pre determined 3 possible choices. One good, two bad.
They heavily promoted the worst plan. Trying to convince everyone to take it. They made it sound great but it was all paid for by the employee. After reading the books they were required to give us to research, there was an ok plan but it costed the company about half, which was reasonable.
As we began filing the paperwork the insurance company became alarmed that too many were choosing the plan they did not want us to really choose.
The solution was that suddenly the plan became unavailable.
