Is this fair? My aunt does not work - and has never worked in her adult life. My uncle makes all they money in a job he hated for 30 years.
We’re about to go on holiday and my aunt won’t even pack his bag because “it’s his bag”… seems petty!??

Hmm. Would she know what he needs to have packed? It can be difficult to pack for somebody else. What other things does she have going on? Just because people don't work, doesn't mean they don't have other obligations. While I'd be willing to help my husband out if he really needed it (regardless of my work situation), I don't think it should be an expectation for her to pack his bags simply because he works and she doesn't. Although, "it's his bag" doesn't seem like a very good reason to decline.

@Underconstruction it seems ungenerous since this is a domestic activity and she’s always had help (cleaners etc)

@HumanEarth I'm not sure... I mean, I would hesitate to pack my man's case unless he either lay it out for me or wrote a list of what he wants me to pack for him.

@HumanEarth Makes sense if she doesn't know what you might feel like wearing.
In my case, last year was the first time that my man went away and maintained daily contact with me - so I wouldn't fully know without his help what he might want to wear.
