I lost My Job

I'm no self starter
I'm no leader
I'm often a scared little boy dreamer
Been that way all of my life

I recently lost my job
My fault maybe
Depends who believes my explanation and reason
And I'm here hoping and believing
That something is going to come to me fast

Its not like I am not trying
But I keep my crying inside myself
I'm not always smiling
But I keep on believing
That whatever will come, will come when its time

People were always coming my way
Telling me of their troubles
And I'd be there listening and trying to help
And secretly inside be me removing myself from their struggles
Thinking I hope I'll not find myself where they are at

But here I am where they were
Struggling and crying
Trying to catch up in this electronic world
Feeling so alone, like I don't know what I am doing anymore

Needing, feeling that I need to run and catch up
To a world that runs past itself everyday
I'm no self starter. I'm no leader
But I cannot afford to be a dreamer....

I tried delivering packages for Amazon Flex and found that I enjoyed it quite a bit. Looking back on it now that I got another job, I actually miss it. It got me out in the sun daily, I made some side money to keep me going and I was pretty good at it. Also have a look at the Side Hustle home page at

You might get some ideas to try. Good luck!

Sorry you lost your job, what happened?

@Iwillwait The “Clean Desk” policy which means at the end of my work day I cannot keep anyone’s personal information. I never keep in touch with callers as that violates company policy but to get my insistent caller off my back I said I’d keep in touch but knew I’d never do it. But because when the company played back the call and looked at the transcript they had the damning evidence and kicked me to the curb. Twelve plus years of loyal, exemplary work tossed away like an old shoe.

@Alisha233 I’m trying believe me. While customer service jobs are all over the place I need a remote position to work from home. I was working from home before it became fashionable, years before COVID. I don’t have reliable transportation and who needed business casual clothes as I worked from home since 2012. And now I find I’m behind on my computer skills but my skills as a CSR are top of the line. I had a video interview yesterday for a part time CSR remote but I’m trying….

That's very unfortunate. I am so sorry for your loss. @SagePoet
