Thursday, Friday, and Monday are public holidays here in Norway. Quite a lot of people take the whole week getting ten days off altogether at the cost of only three days of their annual leave. I think it's much the same all over Europe.

Good Friday and Easter Monday are Bank (public) Holidays in the UK.

The supermarkets only limit their hours at best so their staff can't enjoy the holiday. These shops could shut on these days but are too interested in the money.

Many others work on Bank Holidays too: the emergency and medical services of course, farmers, the leisure trade, broadcasters and journalists, some industrial process-workers....

Normally I do but it got flexed to july 5th for an extra long weekend

I had to take a vac day because we don't get it as a holiday.

Yes, will be visiting my parents with my wife, my wife and I will be going to a 3 hour church service and later in the evening we will be going for a pub dinner.
