Did you go to work when your loved one passed away?

I took Monday andTuesday off to be with my grandpa and then he passed away Tuesday afternoon. It was devastating. I went to work the next day and they were surprised. My grandma said it was up to me if I wanted to stay home but sitting at home mopping won’t help so going to work to stay busy too keep mind of things can help. So I went. Even my boss was surprised I came in. I took this week off to grieve and for my grandpa’s service. My coworkers gave their condolences but got annoyed with me stepping out a lot. I don’t know if I’m going to work Monday. 😭😭😭😭 I moved in with my aunt last Saturday and my grandma now lives in a nursing home due to losing her sight and won’t look after me anymore.
in Jewish law the mourners sit mourning for 7 days ( 7 in Hebrew is SHEVA hence the mourning period is called "sitting SHIVA") in which family and friends can come and condole.
20 years ago I sat "shiva" for my mother , it was an intense week but in a way it's good because you get to talk about the deceased and also hear stories about them from the visitors.
I did the week after the funeral

I still had to attened my tutoring sessions. My tutor made me feel worst when she asked do you miss him ? Of course I did. I still do. I wasnt allowed time off for it. They were really strict with students having time off.
