I don't have very good "business attire". 🙁

Because I have worked in casual-dress jobs for soooo long.

The only sort-of "formal" things I own are basically funeral clothes, and not suitable for a job interview at a business. Dammit.

I don't really want to buy anything new until I know for sure that I'm hired or not though. I will just have to do the best I can with what I have. 🙃

If the USA's business trend is anything like the UK's formal clothes to work is slowly becoming outdated- smart casual is the way to go 😎

I shop consignment stores. They always have nice work appropriate clothes. Formal business attire is a thing of the past for the most part. Clean and professional is what they look for. A nice pair of slacks and top should be fine for an interview.

Even funeral clothes would work as long as you look professional. Conservative colors, clean lines while avoiding busy prints should keep the attention focused on you.

Apparently interviewers make up their minds about us within seconds of us walking through the door if it's in person. I'm pretty strapped for cash most of the time too, but I think investing in a good set of interview clothes is a wise investment. Hope it goes well for you.

Go to Kohl's/ROSS/TJ Maxx you'll be able to wardrobe quite inexpensively. Goodwill may even have a great selection.

Wear what you feel comfortable in, that way you will be showing apart of your real self, unless of course it's a mini skirt with fish net tights may be.
