Why do jobs conduct multiple interviews?
Phone screening; video interview; in person interview, why not do everything at once?? 🙄🙄

The hiring decision was mine. I had a great HR person who screened applications, did phone interviews, and gave me the top three candidates. We almost always agreed on which one to hire, but she wanted me to make my decision before she told me her choice. Sometimes it was easy, but sometimes it was difficult. We were trying to be fair to all.
