I personally wouldn't've taken psychology in college because of this very reason. It seems like the more you know about psychology, the less fun life would seem to be. For me, it also would feel like if I did took up on psychology, I would be analyzing everyone's vibe, feelings and trying to see if someone's lying or not and I find that exhausting to even think of that scenario.
I know my fair bit of psychology, but not enough to work in that field. I wouldn't want to work somewhere where I'll feel trapped and exhausted all the time.
This is what you have to deal with. I would find it rude if you asked to switch to another service user, because I feel that if you do request that, then your employer or HQ would tell you something like, "You wanted to work in this field, this is what you'll have to put up with."
I have nothing against psychology, I just don't want to work in that field.

@Xalvadora yes I was thinking of mentioning how exhausted I am in my supervision meeting but I fear my supervisor will say “ well this is social care it gets like this sometimes , and if we put u with another service user will u not get xhausteed again “

@Cherryblossom10 At this point, I'd try another profession.
