Yes, and they should let you know in a 2 to 5 days. If you don't hear from them by then, it's ok to call HR and ask the status of your application.

Where I work, we always contact applicants to let them know when the position has been filled. I think that is common for academic jobs.

Depends what you call professional

Yes
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
I find that they usually tell you afterwards not right at the interview.
Morrowind · 26-30, M
I’m not sure honestly but I’ve seen professional jobs do it and also not

Don't call us, we'll call you.

@SW-User yeah.
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
It depends about 55-60% will
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
Yes, most do.
PoetryNEmotion · F
The majority will not. They have no time to waste. It would be courteous; it is all about only money so forget it.
perceptivei · 36-40, F
@PoetryNEmotion Interesting you say that. Lol.
PoetryNEmotion · F
@perceptivei Why? I used to have my pick of job. In healthcare. Then that career ended. Now I still have picks but more limited. Employers prefer younger employees.
perceptivei · 36-40, F
@PoetryNEmotion You said, "They have no time to waste." It takes no more than a click or press of a button to send a rejection email.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
No. The rule is if they want you they'll let you know.
perceptivei · 36-40, F
@Queendragonfly Even after an interview?
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@perceptivei Yes, they thank you for coming and if they don't call they aren't interested
calicuz · 51-55, M
Yes, they should send a denial letter in an email.
